New Laptop RAM

Yes, I genuinely thought 1GB was a little bit on the insufficient side these days, so added another chip to bring my laptop up to its maximum capacity. Running my usual set of programs almost always brings memory usage over the GB mark.

This is also one of many photos I’ve forgotten about uploading over the past few weeks because I’ve been busy, so expect a couple more to appear!

After doing this (which was a little daunting, because WHY does such ‘delicate’ machinery require force unlike anything else to fit) I thought I’d bring the Page File down to a sensible 1024kb and cap at 2048kb. This turned out to be a mistake, showing me that XP’s relationship between RAM and Page File is not as straightforward as I believed – it wasn’t long before I got that ridiculous message about ‘not having enough virtual memory, we’re going to automatically increase it for you’.
