So here is the latest logo design project working for Neovirtua for my placement year, to create a graphic for the new Snugglebums Website we shall be working on in the near future.

This is a very rough idea to check out whether this is the sort of thing the client is after, using simple vector shapes which I hope to later build upon to make a finalised logo.

Here I have used their original image of a woman and child as a basis for the central focus of the logo, except that this image is perhaps more aesthetically dynamic.

I have been studying lately the art of creating ambigrams out of words and names with the purpose of using them within my logo design work. Here is one I created from the company name APCues:

Sketches

Information

http://www.johnlangdon.net/index.html – John Langdon

http://www.stepinsidedesign.com/STEP/Article/28765

After doing a number myself, I wondered if there was anywhere I could find examples of any two letters that have been mixed together. Instead I found an ‘ambigram generator’ here http://ambigram.matic.com/ambigram.htm, which is ok for getting a little bit of inspiration.

My placement work seems to have taken a turn for logo and branding design, this time with a watersports brand called Ocean Addict. Here is one of a few initial design ideas I came up with but am most pleased with.

Firstly the shape of the letters, designed to feel a bit like two bubbles or links in a chain to keep the nautical appeal. And the second image is of the letters implemented with some splashes I drew out and applied filters to.
