New SRJM Logo Design

I’ve started work on a new logo design for myself:
19th August, 2009
I’ve scanned and uploaded a whole load of things I had intended to for quite a while. This is because I had my scanner out to scan a sketch for the new site’s header image:
Among some pretty random old stuff, there were also a couple of concept sketches for my recent Final Year Project:
Website menu buttons in vector:
And a quick scribble of an idea for the idat menu button:

Having considered a number of alternative means of connecting human with hardware, I’m going down the route of using a joystick-like handle with the various sensors placed in suitable positions in contact with the fingers and palm.
Here is a very, very quick sketch of what I have in mind:

Over the weekend I made an effort to get as much of the body of my Narrative Project done. Essentially the concept will be a parody of traditional fantasy/fairytale like storytelling, and an opportunity to let off some steam from the formal writing required for my Dissertation.
To go with this, my story needed an image for use as background (or cover), so I seized the moment to do a quick sketch of my concept.
My ‘book’ will be based on rewritten code for my gallery, and made to look as tangible and booklike as possible through the use of styles and fonts.

Here is a pencil sketch of Calm Down (from the 80′s cartoon Stoppit and Tidyup) drawn while waiting between support messages for a server yesterday. Very theraputic.

I have been studying lately the art of creating ambigrams out of words and names with the purpose of using them within my logo design work. Here is one I created from the company name APCues:

After doing a number myself, I wondered if there was anywhere I could find examples of any two letters that have been mixed together. Instead I found an ‘ambigram generator’ here http://ambigram.matic.com/ambigram.htm, which is ok for getting a little bit of inspiration.
